How far are you willing to travel?

As far as you’re willing to have me go!  My collections include travel for most weddings in Southern Ontario, Cottage Country, and Prince Edward County. Occasionally a travel fee may apply if an overnight stay is required - we'll discuss that in your booking consultation! Beyond Ontario, I have a passport and a bucket list ;).

How long have you been shooting weddings?

I began shooting as a professional in 2011, that was the first year I photographed weddings as a Secondary Photographer with other seasoned pros.  The following year I began taking on my own wedding clients and never turned back.  I loved it then and I love it more every season.

How many photos will we receive?

The answer to this question varies wedding to wedding. I don’t put a cap on the number of images I deliver, if you’ve allowed for plenty of time to take formal photos, your wedding is detailed, and your guests are having a great time… that will all factor into the number of photos you receive. You can anticipate a minimum of 50 images per hour of coverage. I remove all images with technical flaws (unless it’s a really perfect moment then I might still include a blurry photo), blinking eyes, people talking, as well as shots that may be overly repetitive. You receive all the great stuff that remains!

Do you bring a second photographer?

The majority of the work you see on my portfolio was shot solo! Sometimes adding a second photographer to your collection makes sense based on wedding day logistics. At your booking consultation we'll review your needs to see if it makes sense to have a second pair of eyes on your day. Some situations where I might recommend one are if you're getting ready at different locations and want to limit my travel between, if you're doing your photos at cocktail hour and want candid shots of the guests while we're at it, or if you have a particularly large wedding. I work with some amazing, talented photographers who do a fabulous job when called upon. This can also be discussed when the time is right.

How long does it take for our photos to be delivered? Do you send sneak peeks?

My goal is to get your photos into your hands as fast as I can without compromising editing quality. Typical delivery time is between 6-8 weeks after your big day. And yes, I certainly do send sneak peeks - you can expect them sometime within a few days of your wedding. I try to send them as soon as I can once I've rehydrated & recovered :p.

Will you help us figure out our timeline?

Absolutely! All my collections include personalized timeline assistance to help organize the flow of your photographed moments. I believe that your wedding day should be fully enjoyed by you and that you deserve to have space for authentic moments and memories with the people you love. Rushing for the sake of photos is NOT the vibe. I will help you in any way I can so that you have the best possible experience all day long. I’m not a wedding planner but I’m happy to assist you in creating a schedule that will allow for great photos with minimal stress.

Do we have to purchase the images you take above and beyond the collection rate?

You pay for my services and that includes the printable image files delivered via downloadable online gallery. I highly recommend that you use our professional album & printing services so that your images will stand the test of time.  You will receive a personal use print release that allows you to print wherever you choose, just note that I don’t guarantee colour or quality of the finished products if you print outside our lab.

We're really interested in film photography - do you offer that?

YES!!! I've been shooting film for about 8 years (not counting all those point and shoot memories I captured in the 90's) and officially added film to my collections in 2023. Film has a specific colour and grain quality that is extremely difficult to replicate in digital photography. It's very special to me because of the way it encites nostalgia and feelings of authenticity. I currently offer film as an optional upgrade but soon it may be part of all my collections. Here are a few samples!

What is this Unplugged Wedding stuff we keep hearing about?

An “Unplugged Wedding” is a ceremony during which the bride and groom request that no photos be taken by guests. We live in an Insta-Culture and everyone wants to grab great shots for their social media accounts. While most people think they’re doing the couple a favour by taking lots of photos during the ceremony, all this technology is becoming a bit of an issue for the professional photographer you’ve hired. Camera and cell phone flashes often interfere with our cameras, we have people holding cameras/phones in the aisle, up in the air, and in front of their beautiful faces, sometimes we even have people shooting right over our shoulders! While technology can interfere the biggest concern for us is watching our couples miss out on the connection with their guests as they experience the wedding through a screen.  The intimacy & happy vibes seem to multiply as soon as guests set their cameras/phones aside and take it all in – it’s incredible!  We do not require that couples have unplugged ceremonies but it’s absolutely recommend. It’s a great way to get awesome photos and some warm fuzzies when you look out on all those happy faces.
