If you’re looking for inspiration for your upcoming Toronto financial district wedding, say less. Destiny and Preston’s big day is the perfect stop to snag some inspo! These two are as fun-loving as they come, and their wedding was filled with everything that makes a celebration unforgettable: laughter, tears, and some amazing details that blended their cultures beautifully. Here's a little snippet of this perfect day on digital and a smattering of Film!
The wedding day started at One King West, one of Toronto’s most iconic hotels. This place has so much character and the location was unbeatable. If you know anything about downtown Toronto, you know that logistically it can be tricky to get around if there's a lot happening in the city. They were a short Uber Ride away from their Steam Whistle Brewing venue. Perfect! Their families and closest friends joined them as they got ready; their rooms were packed with good energy (and a few happy tears). As a wedding photographer in Toronto, I love capturing these emotional and honest moments in a classic setting.
Destiny & Preston shared a private first look in Destiny's suite - simple and perfectly "them". We then headed out and Toronto’s financial district gave us the perfect vibe for some gorgeous wedding photos. With its skyscrapers, interesting light, and big city energy, the area added a cool, urban vibe that matched Destiny and Preston’s style. We strolled through the district, shooting loads of candid moments—laughs, sneaky glances, and some romantic yet casual portraits. The contrast between the city’s sleek architecture and their playful, happy energy made each shot feel unique and important.
If you’re thinking about having your wedding photos in downtown Toronto, the financial district is a fantastic spot for that urban, timeless vibe. And with couples like Destiny and Preston, the city feels more like a co-star than just a background.
We wrapped photos and hopped into an Uber to D&P's venue (Steam Whistle) to meet family for some group shots and a little time to freshen up as their guests began to arrive! A sweet & heartfelt ceremony followed before everyone enjoyed an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour. The guests were so excited to find the fun surprises of a chai cart and audio guest book. Both added personal, cozy touches to the day that felt right at home in the mix of modern and traditional elements the couple brought together. The dinner decor included bright florals an touches of disco flair—think subtle sparkle, retro vibes, and just the right amount of glam. It was the perfect setup for a night that balanced elegance with serious fun.
As a Toronto wedding photographer, I often recommend the financial district to couples who want that downtown feel. It’s got everything: amazing light, iconic buildings, and a mix of history and modern style that works with any look. Destiny and Preston brought their personalities to each shot, and it was awesome capturing their love against this energetic, beautiful cityscape. From heartfelt vows to tearful toasts, Destiny and Preston’s day was packed with genuine emotion. Being able to capture the love and joy these two share was a privilege—especially with all their family and friends cheering them on. Weddings like this remind me why I love what I do.
If you’re planning a wedding in downtown Toronto and love that mix of city sophistication and personal flair, the financial district has so much to offer.
