Documentary Super 8 Wedding Film, Captured in Ontario
Some weddings are meant to be captured on film. Jenn and Jason’s at-home wedding, just east of Toronto, was one of them.
Their celebration took place on a beautiful property they care for deeply. It’s a quiet & cozy slice of land packed with meaning, light, and life. The kind of setting that doesn’t need staging because it already feels like something you want to remember.
Jenn is a wedding photographer herself, and also a good friend. We were out for happy hour one afternoon when I casually joked/asked if I could bring my Super 8 camera to film alongside her incredible photographers, our pals Shari and Mike. She said “wait, are you serious?” and then took me up on my half joke, half dead-serious offer. When I tell you this wedding was a dream to film, it’s not hyperbole. I have dreams of ditching every camera I own and only filming weddings on Super 8 after this perfect day. I wasn’t there to direct or take the lead. I was there to observe and preserve the day in motion, just as it unfolded.
A few things I loved about this wedding: their log home nestled in the trees, full of character and warmth; guests in vibey, festival-inspired outfits that brought so much personality; Leo, their dog, greeting everyone like the proud host; and long dinner tables winding across the lawn under string lights. This wasn’t a production. It was a real, at-home celebration. Joyful, grounded, and completely personal.
Why Super 8 Film? Super 8 gives space for things to unfold. It captures moments without interrupting them. This wedding video was filmed entirely on real Super 8, using vintage equipment. There were no retakes, no perfect poses, and nothing filtered. Just honest moments, real light, and the natural flow of the day. It’s imperfect in the best way. Watching it feels like flipping through a memory someone happened to catch while you were busy living it.
Jenn and Jason, thank you for the trust, the space, and the chance to see this day through a different lens. The light was beautiful, Leo was royalty, and the whole day felt like something worth holding onto.
Thinking about Super 8 for your own wedding? Super 8 wedding films are available as an add-on to my photography coverage in Toronto, the GTA, and surrounding areas. If you’re planning a wedding east of Toronto or anywhere in Ontario and want something that feels relaxed, nostalgic, and real, we might be a good fit. You don’t need to know anything about film. Just tell me how you want the day to feel, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Photography has always been more than just images to me—it’s about holding onto the moments that matter most. The raw, unfiltered bits of life that tell our stories.
My approach is candid, vibey, and unposed whenever possible (don’t worry, I still gently guide your portraits when needed). I believe every emotion—joy, laughter, quiet tears, the big and small—is deeply beautiful and deserves to be remembered.
As your wedding photographer, my job isn’t to stage your love—it’s to witness it, document it, and let it shine in its most authentic form. Because at the end of the day, these aren’t just wedding photos. They’re the moments that will bring you back to exactly how it all felt.
I’m so glad you’re here—I can’t wait to get to know you!
