Hotel Ocho Wedding Toronto
If you’re planning a Hotel Ocho wedding in Toronto, here’s the honest version of what you’re getting: a stylish downtown venue with a ton of personality, a really good flow for the day, and the kind of atmosphere that helps guests loosen up fast.
Brigette & Adrian’s wedding was exactly that. Warm, fun, stylish, not remotely stiff… and fully the kind of day that reminds me why I love what I do. They also love film, and I had the opportunity to add several rolls to their wedding day coverage!
And I’m not just saying that because it’s my job to be nice on the internet. I love Brigette & Adrian. They’re the kind of couple you meet and immediately feel like you’ve known forever. Sweet, funny, and very much “we’re having a good time today” people. Zero weird vibes. All heart. All laughs.
Getting Ready in Toronto (Hotel 1 + A Private Residence)
The day began in 2 different locations, which I actually love because it gives the morning a little momentum right away. Some anticipation and individual party vibes to get things going.
Adrian got ready at a private residence with his friends, and those mornings always hit. Relaxed, easy, real. No rushing around a hotel room trying to find a missing shoe or convincing five people to stop standing in front of the window.
And this is also where I have to shout out my collaborating photographer, Leann Weston, because she was essential. She covered the guys getting ready so perfectly, and throughout the day she caught so many amazing moments. Having Leann there meant this wedding was creatively covered from every angle, with zero gaps and a ton of really meaningful in-between shots.
Meanwhile, Brigette got ready at the beautiful Hotel 1 Toronto, and honestly… it never disappoints. The light is gorgeous, the energy feels calm, and it’s the kind of space that makes even the most chaotic getting-ready moments feel a little more elevated. Taylor Switzer Makeup provided their signature glam for our ladies!
Brigette’s bridesmaids wore chocolate satin, which I’m officially adding to my list of “always a yes” wedding choices. It’s rich, flattering, modern, and looks incredible in photos. It’s giving stylish without being try-hard. We love.
The Bernedoodle Stopped By (And Stole the Show)
Brigette & Adrian’s dog Murphy joined the ladies while they were getting ready, and I cannot stress this enough: he understood the assignment. Bouncy. Cute. Slightly unhinged. Emotional support. Comedic relief. Occasional chaos. Perfect.
If you’re thinking of including your dog in your wedding day, I support you. Fully. Just know your dog will absolutely try to steal the show, and you should let them.
A First Look on the Patio (Simple = Best)
Their first look happened on the patio at the hotel, and it was one of my favourite parts of the day. Not because we made it a big production. We didn’t. It was simple and private, which is exactly how I recommend doing it if you’re going the first look route.
A first look doesn’t need a dramatic setup or a perfect backdrop. It just needs a quiet pocket of time where you can actually see each other, breathe for a second, and have a real moment before everyone starts hugging you and asking where the schedule is. Brigette & Adrian kept it relaxed and sweet and very much them.
Portraits at Osgoode Hall (Yes It’s Busy, Yes It’s Still Worth It)
We did portraits at Osgoode Hall, which is an iconic Toronto location for wedding photos.
And yes, it can be busy on a Saturday. You might share space with other couples, wedding parties, photographers, and the occasional person who’s just trying to walk through and is confused why everyone is dressed like it’s a red carpet. Generally, though, we are all pretty good at sharing. It’s understood that it’s a privilege to use the space without a permit, and everyone tends to get along.
But I’ll say this: it’s popular for a reason. The architecture is gorgeous. The vibe is timeless. And it gives you that classic Toronto look without needing to go far or eat up your entire day traveling.
Brigette & Adrian were so fun and easygoing that they made everything feel effortless. We moved fast, kept it light, and got so many great photos without turning portraits into a two-hour chore.
Ceremony + Reception at Hotel Ocho (Great Food, Great Energy, Big Party)
After portraits, we headed to Hotel Ocho for the ceremony and reception, and it was honestly the perfect place for this day.
The planning, design, and execution of the day were on point thanks to Parallel Weddings. Miugi Flowers did gorgeous florals, and they were absolutely stunning. Modern, clean, and beautifully designed in a way that fit the whole vibe without feeling overly precious about it. Florals can totally change the mood of a day, and these were the perfect match for Hotel Ocho. Stylish, fresh, and not fussy.
If you want a venue in Toronto that feels intimate but still has real party energy, Hotel Ocho is a strong choice. The space feels stylish and cozy at the same time, and everything flows really naturally once the day gets going. The food is amazing. Not “wedding food”, amazing. Like, “people are going to talk about this later” amazing.
And the party was unreal. The vibes were right, the dance floor stayed full, and it had that feel of a wedding where everyone is genuinely having a good time. No awkward energy. No polite dancing. Just full-on celebration.
My Final Thoughts (I Adore These Two)
This wedding was such a good reminder that the most essential ingredient for a great wedding day is WHO you surround yourself with. Good people, a timeline that doesn’t stress you out, a venue that fits your style, and enough mental space to actually be present for it all = perfection.
Brigette & Adrian moved through this day with grace and joy. I’m so grateful we got to photograph it, and I’m even more grateful they trusted us with it.
I love them. The end.
