I’ve been a really bad blogger – bad, bad blogger. I have so many fun sessions from the past year that I’ve totally neglected to share with you all, and I’m so sorry. Probably one of my favourite engagement sessions from summer ’18 was this little number you’re about to see. Amy & Rick wanted a cool, easy going Junction Engagement shoot in Toronto. I was more than happy to help them make that happen! I feel like a broken record sometimes when I tell clients “Don’t stress about the location; connection & light are EVERYTHING, location is totally secondary.”. I’m going to start using this session as proof.
We strolled around the Junction (if you don’t know where that is, it’s a neighbourhood in Toronto that’s been in transition from kinda crummy to super awesome over the past few years). The Junction boasts lots of cool street scenes & interesting architecture (win) and on late summer nights the light is just… mmm… delish. Yes location is secondary – but this one is pretty cool lol! You will note that below some of the dreamiest photos are literally in front of a gated parking lot though so…
Amy & Rick are so chill, so fun, and so down to try pretty much anything I had in mind. I feel like their amazing attitudes helped bring us good juju the night of their session. We would up with some amazing light (I LOVE HARSH LIGHT), wind (my fave), and all kinds of good vibes. This is how you do it y’all! Relax, have fun, enjoy each other. That’s it. Engagement photos don’t need to be something to stress over – they should be a fun way to say something about who you are at this point in your story.
