If you’ve ever swung by my blog, you’ll know that I love sharing full stories of weddings. I do sprinkle in some detail shots here and there, but let’s just say I don’t post a ton of them. However, every now and then I end up with a wedding gallery that can’t be fully shared for privacy reasons… I totally understand this and respect the need to keep certain things offline. As it happens, those weddings are often ones that I want to post EVERYWHERE because they’re at a venue I love and are so dang gorgeous. All that to say, this isn’t my normal story-telling photo blog… this is a venue appreciation blog. The Compass Rose Suites Wedding Venue in Prince Edward County is so beautiful that I felt it deserved its very own post.
While the story of this wedding day and those involved will remain private, my clients have generously supported my desire to share some images of The Compass Rose Suites PEC as well as some details and I am so grateful.
I’ve never done a venue or vendor spotlight on my blog and to be honest, the idea of creating a full post strictly to showcase the venue and details is kind of exciting!
So, here we go, my first ever venue spotlight ~ the STUNNING Compass Rose Suites in Prince Edward County.

Please enjoy!

I absolutely loved the house on this property. It’s available for rent to be used for family or wedding party and our couple took full advantage. Both the bride and the groom and their wedding parties were able to get ready in this space without our couple crossing paths. It’s roomy, modern, and filled with natural light. The on-site rental home is a perfect space to not only get ready for your wedding, but to entertain your closest people. I hope to return one day and photograph this space again!
Outdoor seating areas???!!! YES PLEASE!
Compass Rose Suites offers a few different options for your wedding ceremony. On this particular day we were treated to a beautifully shaded afternoon ceremony in the forest space, surrounded by towering trees and dappled light. This ceremony site boasts built-in wooden benches so that nobody has to haul chairs back and forth. The trees also offered a welcome break from the sun on a very hot summer day.

Ahhh this little greenhouse. I absolutely love the vibe in here! You can host a smaller ceremony in this little space but our clients chose to use it for their card/gift table and guest book signing space. It was also open to their guests for some casual lounge seating before the ceremony and during cocktail hour.
Our beautiful couple took the opportunity to sneak away for about 15 minutes during dinner and enjoy some quiet time while the sun went down. The grounds around the Compass Rose Suites are colourful, a little wild, and filled with happy little butterflies & bumblebees. The gardens looked gorgeous in daylight but they were extra pretty after the sun dipped below the horizon.
Can we take a minute and appreciate this tent? I felt like I was under an old-timey bigtop! The wood posts and the lights created a cozy ambiance. Tents can feel cold at times, but not this one!!!
While I would love to share the rest of this wedding day story, I’m going to end this post here. If it wasn’t obvious, I’m a huge fan of this little venue in the County and I hope that if you’ve stumbled upon this post you’ll take this as your sign to check it out. As always, I want to give special thanks to a fantastic team of vendors who helped bring our client’s vision to life. These folks navigated constantly changing regulations during a very intense 2021 wedding season with class and grace. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such amazing humans.
Shout out to the incredible team who poured their blood, sweat (so much sweat), and tears into this stunning day:
