Mother’s Day | Thank You Moms

I’ve always enjoyed watching parents as they watch their children get married.  It’s a beautiful rollercoaster ride of emotion: stress, joy, nostalgia, pride, and a myriad of others… as a storyteller this is the stuff I live for.  The role of a mother at a wedding isn’t always an easy one.  They often feel so much responsibility and pressure that it can become overwhelming.  Mothers are occasionally the ones who take the brunt of those “bridal meltdown” moments when things don’t go quite right.  They fix broken buttons, settle screaming babies, make sure Grandma’s been picked up, and still need to get themselves ready (among so many other things).  Sometimes the bride is a mama herself, as you can imagine this can bring added challenges to an already busy day.  It’s chaotic.  It’s love.  It’s motherhood.
Now that I’m a Mom myself wedding day moments resonate with me more than ever.  I’ve selected a few of my favourite Mom images from the past year (there were wayyyy too many) in honour of Mother’s Day.  Thank you to all the wonderful mothers (including mine) who have helped make your children’s wedding days the best day ever.  You’re wonderful and we’d be lost without you xo.
