I’m 100% not a morning person. Not even a little bit. The only time I’d consider myself even remotely on board with being up before sunrise is if I get up early while on vacation to see the sun come up on the beach – even that is pushing it. So imagine my surprise when I recommended that Carlyng & Kevin do their Bancroft Cottage Engagement session at sunrise in the freezing cold! As much as I grumbled when my alarm went off at an ungodly 4:30am, I knew these two would be worth it.
I’m being a little dramatic. The truth is that I jump at any chance to photograph an “up north” or Muskoka Engagement session. What could be better than fresh air, quiet, and beautiful scenery? Carlyng’s family cottage near Bancroft ON (not Muskoka, but equally beautiful) is a special place for their family and time spent here is never wasted. We arrived on a dark morning just before the sun came up (ok, ok, it barely came up) and explored the property with their adorable pup as the light arrived.
Carlyng & Kevin are two of the warmest and kindest people I’ve met. One works with animals, the other works with small children – that should tell you something about their wonderful characters. I would gladly get up before dawn to photograph these two again! I can’t wait to blog their amazing backyard wedding too, stay tuned for that in the weeks to come!
